About Bungle Like any other black European bear, Bungle was born in 1988, up in Vitosha mountain in the picturesque Vladaya district of Sofia, Bulgaria. Ever the glutton, Bungle’s cooking career commenced with an attempt to fry eggs in a plastic dish. The culinary effort, subsequently hidden under the sofa and promptly discovered by his mother to much amusement prompted Bungle on this long-lasting culinary journey. Impromptu culinary lessons by his mother, preparing Bungle for the life of a bachelor, lead to a keen interest in all things culinary developing and shaped Bungle’s professional life. A weekend walk took him outside a French deli. Bewitched by the smell of freshly baked croissants, the seductive luster of the hams in the window, the plump ripeness of cheeses, Bungle decided that he has in fact, found his life calling. Bungle wanted to become a bon viveur and a gastronome. Part Nigella Lawson, part Baba Bear, Bungle brings together the moans of pleasure and finger slash bowl licking cake batters of the decadent West and the simple pleasures of the spartan, rustic East.
